In the world of nonprofit fundraising, few things matter more than clarity and choice. Donors want to feel confident that their gift is going to the program, campaign, or community initiative that matters most to them. But for too many organizations, connecting donor intent to operational reality has been a painful process filled with vague fund labels, confusing donation forms, and backend data chaos. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Gift Designations in the Soapbox Engage Donations app, a feature built not just to check the box, but to actually solve the donor experience and admin workflow challenges that nonprofits face every day.

As data becomes an increasingly integral part of nonprofit fundraising and marketing, charitable organizations need to stay up-to-date with the latest data trends—one of which is appending data. It might be the middle of summer, but the smartest fundraisers know that year-end giving success starts months before the first holiday appeal hits inboxes. July is the perfect time to lay the groundwork—clean up your database, refresh your donation pages, and map out campaigns. That way, when Giving Tuesday and December’s generosity arrive, you’re ready to capture every gift. Nearly one-third of annual donations still come in during December, with a big surge in the final three days of the year. By starting your prep now, you give yourself time to test, refine, and build momentum for the biggest fundraising stretch of the year. We’ve put together an updated 7-step checklist to help you get ahead, stay organized, and head into the year-end season with confidence.

When budgets are tight and fundraising feels unpredictable, nonprofits need creative, reliable ways to bring in support. That’s where peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising can make all the difference. By empowering your biggest supporters to fundraise on your behalf, P2P fundraising helps expand your reach, build community, and boost revenue, all with less lift from your internal team. In this post, we’ll walk through what peer-to-peer fundraising is, why it works, and how it can help your organization stay financially resilient, even when traditional funding streams dry up.
Another NPSP Day recap hot off the press! On June 11, NPSP Day returned to New York City for a dynamic day focused on the future of nonprofit fundraising. Hosted by Soapbox Engage and Idlewild Partners, this special edition of NPSP Day brought together over 75 nonprofit professionals, Salesforce users, and fundraising experts for a packed agenda of learning, networking, and idea-sharing. While about 20% of attendees were familiar faces from past NPSP Days, the majority were first-timers, which was awesome to see! Everyone was excited to connect in person and explore how Salesforce and AI can help future-proof fundraising strategies. This was our first-ever topic-specific NPSP Day, dedicated to fundraising, and the energy in the room made it clear: this format was a success.
We’re excited to announce a powerful new feature for Soapbox Engage users: your online donation forms can now accept Donor Advised Fund (DAF) gifts seamlessly thanks to our new integration with Chariot’s DAFpay. DAFs are one of the fastest-growing sources of charitable giving, but until now, they’ve been difficult for donors to use and tricky for nonprofits to track. That changes with the latest update to the Soapbox Engage Donations app. With DAFpay now built into Soapbox Engage donation pages, nonprofits can unlock this growing revenue stream while delivering a smoother experience for both donors and staff.
Issue 256 Happy Tuesday, Fundraisers! The fundraising world continues to change, and nonprofit organizations are changing alongside it. Head here to learn some important and exciting e-commerce trends happening in the nonprofit space. Happy Monday, PUB Crawlers! Spring was a whirlwind of travel, packed with meetups, conferences, and community events—and I’m excited to share a recap from NPSP Day Seattle in this week’s newsletter. Now that the solstice has passed and summer is officially here, I’m looking forward to a brief slowdown before we dive into a busy fall season. Onward! At the start of June, NPSP Day returned to Seattle for a lively day of collaboration, learning, and community-building at the historic Pacific Tower. Hosted by Soapbox Engage and Idlewild Partners, this year’s event welcomed more than 40 nonprofit professionals and Salesforce experts, including several seasoned veterans who have been part of the ecosystem for 15 years or more. While our recent event in Chicago drew many first-timers, Seattle had a fantastic share of longtime community members and past NPSP Day participants that gathered to reconnect, swap stories, and dive deep into shared challenges. |
