Top 10 Features of Salesforce Winter ‘24 Release

We’ll soon be heading into the last quarter of the year. Which means the Salesforce Winter ‘24 Release is around the corner! They recently made the Winter ‘24 Release Overview Deck available, meaning you can start preparing now to make sure your organization is ready to take advantage of all the exciting new features.

To make it easier for you, we’ve compiled the 10 most exciting features of the Salesforce Winter ‘24 Release below!

Custom error messages in record-trigger flows

Previously, if you wanted to display an error to the user in a record-triggered flow, you had to resort to workarounds. With this new feature, you can craft and display custom error messages in record-triggered flows. Embrace its potential to construct intricate validation rules, exhibit error messages within fault paths, and even impede the deletion of records.

Dynamic forms for standard objects and mobile

Salesforce has extended Dynamic Forms to support hundreds of standard objects! This powerful feature set is now generally available on the mobile Salesforce app. Admins and developers can show or hide individual fields on a page with dynamic forms and place fields anywhere on a lightning page layout.

Auto-layout user interface changes

Say goodbye to pop-ups! Element configurations will now grace the right side of your screen, streamlining your workflow and enhancing your flow-building efficiency.

Transfer dashboard ownership

Historically, when the owner of an important dashboard left the company, you had the hassle of cloning and recreating the dashboard. That was a hassle, especially if you have a lot of turnover in your organization. With this new release, you can transfer ownership of a dashboard and the new owner has complete control of the dashboard.

Mass quick actions on related lists

Mass Quick Actions on Related Lists is now generally available. Delight your users by streamlining the actions available and adding quick actions directly to related lists. This means that your users can create related records for items in the list without leaving the page, as well as perform mass updates for up to 100 records!

Filter flows in Flow Trigger Explorer

Navigating your repertoire of record-triggered flows is about to become easier than ever. Flow Trigger Explorer, initially unveiled in the Spring ’22 release, receives a welcomed enhancement in Winter ’24. Now, you can filter your flows by status, package state, or process type, ensuring swift access to the specific flows you need, when you need them.

More reactive components

Reactive screen components, initially introduced in the Spring ’23 release, receive a boost with the inclusion of selection components and the display text component. While in beta, this offering empowers you to create dynamic interfaces that respond to user interactions, ultimately enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.

“Pause” element replaced by “Wait” element

The Winter ’24 release introduces three new “Wait” elements. The “Wait for Conditions” element seamlessly fills the void left by its predecessor. Additionally, “Wait for Amount of Time” and “Wait Until Date” elements grant you the ability to pause flows for specific durations or until predetermined dates and times. These streamlined “Wait” mechanisms offer enhanced flow control.

See which contacts need attention and take action from Contact Home

Salesforce is working to change the user experience of navigating to a tab. In prior versions, navigating to the contacts or leads tab would take the user to a list view, but in Winter '24, users are taken to an Intelligence View that helps them hone in on what contacts need attention and which to take action on directly without needing to dig into list views. This should help make Salesforce a more inviting and useful application out of the box for new implementations and users.

Nonprofit Cloud for Fundraising

We have already been sharing about the new Nonprofit Cloud. The new Nonprofit Cloud now includes a Nonprofit Cloud for Fundraising app, which contains many fundraising capabilities that nonprofits are used to in the NPSP version, such as batch gift entry; managing campaigns; gift commitments; and transactions, and includes some new functionality specific to the new Nonprofit Cloud. We're excited to see what the next few releases of Nonprofit Cloud bring!
