We were thrilled to host our very first Soapbox Engage Town Hall, a two-hour virtual event that brought together our customers, partners, and community members from across the nonprofit ecosystem. It was a fantastic session full of real-world examples, customer success stories, and a deep dive into the platform updates and roadmap for the year ahead.

During the Town Hall, we covered:

  • The latest Soapbox Engage platform features from 2025
  • Customer case studies showing how nonprofits are automating processes and enhancing supporter experiences
  • The product roadmap, including AI enhancements and a brand new Auctions app

A heartfelt thank you to all of our customers and partners who attended. Your feedback, engagement, and ideas continue to shape the evolution of Soapbox Engage, and your participation made this event a huge success!

With that, let’s dive into the top platform updates we highlighted: tools and enhancements that are helping nonprofits save time, boost donations, and improve the supporter experience.

1. Gift Designations: Create Clarity Without Creating More Pages

Donors want choice, but nonprofits often end up with an overwhelming number of separate donation pages to accommodate different funds and campaigns. That creates admin sprawl, reporting inconsistencies, and donor confusion.

The new gift designations feature solves this by letting you:

  • Build one donation page with multiple giving options
  • Organize priorities into categories
  • Customize display names and descriptions
  • Map designations directly to Salesforce GAUs

The result: clean data, fewer pages to maintain, and a donation experience that empowers donors without complicating your backend. Organizations like the Harry & Rose Sampson Family JCC have already consolidated 100+ giving options into a single, elegant page.

2. Versatile Donation Modals: Personalized Giving Without Developer Time

Fundraisers often need to tailor donation experiences (by campaign, segment, or message) in modern modal approaches. This can be a bit challenging or require developer time to build.

Updates to the Donations app modals experience allows you to:

  • Trigger modal donation experiences using nothing more than a URL parameter
  • Preview everything directly inside the Soapbox Engage administrator

This makes it easy to run targeted campaigns that convert better, with no reliance on web developers or extra page building.

See the support documentation.

3. Automatic Mobile-Optimized Donation Flow

Nearly half of online giving now comes from mobile devices, but many donation pages still underperform on small screens.

With a single checkbox, Donations app pages can now reduce form abandonment and friction by:

  • Automatically displaying a mobile-optimized modal for smartphone visitors
  • Preserving the full desktop page for larger screens

This update ensures supporters get the fastest, smoothest path to giving. No custom design work needed.

4. Pledge Payment Automation: No More Manual Tracking

Pledge management is often a major administrative burden. Staff spend hours tracking installment schedules, updating their databases (like the Salesforce NPSP), reconciling payments, and nudging donors who fall behind.

The Donations app's pledge payment feature help by allowing donors to:

  • Make installment payments through dedicated pages
  • See their remaining pledge balance
  • Sync payments instantly to Salesforce

This reduces write-offs, eliminates spreadsheet tracking, and gives donors a self-serve experience they appreciate.

See the support documentation.

5. Donor Advised Fund (DAFpay) Integration for Gift Payments

DAF donors are increasing, but the process for submitting a DAF contribution is often clunky, usually involving emails, forms, or follow-up from staff.

With DAFpay built directly into the Donations app, you get new benefits like:

  • Donors can initiate DAF gifts instantly
  • Organizations receive a cleaner record of intent immediately
  • High-value gifts face less friction

This integration helps organizations capture more major gift contributions with fewer administrative steps.

6. See the Full Donor Journey Using Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is a useful tool that many organizations use for tracking insights in supporter journeys, abandonment rates, and campaign performance.

Soapbox Engage’s GA4 integration enables:

  • Full web traffic tracking for all Soapbox pages
  • E-commerce event tracking for donations
  • Modern measurement tools aligned with Google’s latest standards

This empowers teams to understand what’s driving conversions and what isn’t.

See the support documentation.

7. Improved Nonprofit Cloud Support for Recurring & Tribute Gifts

Previously, moving recurring or tribute gift data into Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud required workarounds due to model constraints and API limitations.

Now, these gifts flow seamlessly from the Donations app into Nonprofit Cloud, giving teams:

  • Cleaner reporting
  • Fewer manual adjustments
  • A more complete donor giving history

This creates a smoother experience for organizations transitioning to or expanding within Nonprofit Cloud.

8. Advanced Fraud Protection for Events

Fraudulent credit card testing is a growing problem for nonprofits, included event registration processes. This causes invalid transactions, increases chances of chargeback fees, and wastes staff time reversing fraudulent records.

Advanced Fraud Protection add-on is now available to be used in conjunction with the Events app. Nonprofits can process event registrations confidently knowing suspicious activity is blocked before it hits their payment gateway.

See the support documentation.

9. Creating Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Pages During Event Registration

Organizations often want supporters to create personal fundraising pages in conjunction with a fundraising event. Asking registrants to manually set up fundraising pages often leads to drop-off, so it's critical to make this a more seamless process.

With an update to the Events and Donations apps, event registrants can now generate peer-to-peer fundraising pages automatically as part of their registration without extra steps. This:

  • Increases participation
  • Increases total fundraising
  • Reduces admin setup

It’s especially powerful for runs, walks, rides, and team events.

See the support documentation.

10. Digital Wallet Event Tickets for Faster Check-In

Event-day bottlenecks frustrate both staff and attendees. Paper tickets get lost. Emails get buried.

With the Events app's new Apple Wallet and Google Wallet ticket support, attendees can:

  • Store tickets directly on their phone
  • Scan instantly at check-in
  • Trigger real-time attendance updates in Salesforce

Organizations like L.A. Works have used this feature to streamline volunteer check-in and reduce lines dramatically for thousands of attendees.

Bringing It All Together

Whether it’s smoother mobile giving, easier event check-in, or tighter CRM integrations, each feature is built with one goal in mind: to let organizations spend less time on admin tasks and more time advancing their mission.
