At Soapbox Engage we have a great ecosystem of consultants that share our non-profit values and have expertise in Soapbox Engage solutions. Dryad Consulting is one of those amazing consultants that we’ve partnered with for over 3 years!
We recently caught up with Alexander Lapa at Dryad Consulting to learn more about what they offer, what kinds of organizations they work with, and what makes them unique. Get to know them better below!
Can you tell us about your firm's early days, and why you're doing the work you do?
My very first Salesforce project was with a local nonprofit organization, back in 2012. The Nonprofit Cloud wasn’t nearly as advanced then and yet it was still leagues ahead of its competitors. Not only was the client extremely happy with the results, but I felt a strong sense of “giving back to the community”. Never wanting to lose that positive feeling, I specialized in nonprofits ever since.
What are some of the key services you provide to the nonprofit community?
In essence, I help nonprofits run their operations much more efficiently and effectively. Usually there are non-technical people or volunteers working for them, so part of my job is steadily holding their hand throughout the entire change management process.
Is there a particular type, size, location of organization that makes a great fit for your services?
I’m usually the best fit for medium-sized Canadian organizations. One that is large enough to have a healthy budget for the initial implementation, but small enough that I don’t need an entire team to produce the outcome. I also provide consulting services for larger nonprofits, to make sure they follow best practices and stay focused.
Can you tell us a bit about what makes your firm unique?
Aside from specializing in nonprofits, I offer fixed pricing. Most providers only offer estimates, which, if wrong, end up costing the organization more than planned. By knowing the full financial commitment from the start, there are fewer surprises along the way.
When does your team find Soapbox Engage most useful to leverage for your clients?
Soapbox Engage is special in that it offers a suite of applications that work really well with Salesforce’s Nonprofit Cloud. Instead of picking a feature from one provider and another feature from another provider, the suite can scale up and down as needed. In addition, I really appreciate that the Soapbox Engage owners actively participate in Salesforce’s nonprofit community.
Can you share a quick success story from a client that used your skills and Soapbox Engage?
Speaking of that first Salesforce client, I implemented Soapbox Mailer for them. Since they needed something simple but powerful, Soapbox Mailer was my top choice. They’ve been using it for the last 9 years now.
Do you have any upcoming developments or events you'd like the community to know about?
My calendar is full of projects, so there isn’t much time to host an event.
What's one piece of advice you would give a nonprofit when it comes to their technology and data?
Find a trusted expert and leverage their expertise. Nonprofits should do what they do best: focus their attention on their constituents. The technical people can focus on the technical details.
