PUB Crawl for January 15, 2018

Today, those of us in the US (and many around the world) celebrate the legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr with a day of service to our communities. It's incredible to see the contributions made by members of our non-profit community as we leverage our skills to move us towards a more just world.

As you read through this edition of the PUB Crawl, consider your gifts and talents and how they could be contributed to our community in the spirit of service. Each moment we take for each other, the better chance we have to reach the type of world Dr King believed we could create together.

With that spirit in mind, here's the latest contributions from your friends in our Salesforce community!

Don't forget, you can have the goodness of the PUB Crawl delivered into your inbox each Monday morning by subscribing today!

Great Posts from the Salesforce Power of Us Hub

  1. Flagging and reporting on first donations?
Scott Williams (Embrace Your Data LLC)

How would you create a field on the Opportunity object to best reflect (in an automated fashion) that the donation in the Opportunity is the first one made by the donor?

  2. How are you using Salesforce to manage daily work and tasks?
David Miller (Douglas & Maria Devos Foundation)

Yeah, Salesforce is good for tracking donations, campaigns, and other contact and fundraising data, but how can we weave it in to our daily lives to better track everything we do offline? Like burritos eaten per day. Maybe that's just me.

  3. Best approach to year-end giving through email?
    Josh Olson (Issac's Room)

When you budget is tight, it's still important to thank those that help provide the budget. How can we do this in an automated an affordable way?

  4. End of Year Tax Receipt Process - NPSP Household Model
    Matt Johnson (Conservation NW)

Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to stop making sure our community is fully aware of how to tackle this challenge until we have a magic button that does this automagically somewhere.

  5. Is it possible to have a target for each GAU?
    Adrienne Salmon (Australian Youth Orchestra)

Tracking your donor contributions to their intended year is helpful for both accounting and fundraising. What's the best way to target the use of GAUs for specific calendar years?
