It's funny how life can change so quickly in just 24 hours. After not taking a sick day since high school, soon after sending last week's PUB Crawl I found myself checking my temperature every hour for days. Worse, this all happened hours before my flights to NPSP Day Cape Town.

Luckily, our awesome community members Sam Vos and Annakie Gammon stepped up and ran a fantastic NPSP Day for the South African community while I was stuck at home!

So while I continue down the road to recovery, join me as I slowly lift an effervescent glass of vitamin infused water and toast Sam and Annakie. Now, let's see what happened last week while I was out of commission.

After a full week away from the friendly confines of the Soapbox Engage offices, it was nice to spend the week back in DC. Best yet, it was a chance for me to attend our local non-profit user group meeting while prepping for days of Nandos eating later this week (thanks Salesforce for the user group food!).

As I get ready to prepare myself for back-to-back redeye flights en route to our second NPSP Day Cape Town later this week, allow me to get out of the way and deliver this week's round of knowledge.

It's been a whirlwind of a week, with events like fourth annual NPSP Day Portland, my 15th Nonprofit Technology Conference, and an awesome Amplify party. Phew. Before heading to Africa for our second NPSP Day on the continent, I'm gathering thoughts after seeing some great community knowledge.

Salesforce has quickly become a leading CRM platform for both the business and nonprofit worlds. This popularity is largely due to one major benefit: its flexibility.

Salesforce gives its users the ability to easily customize the platform by installing integrated apps designed to serve specific functions.

The ability to quickly and easily add new integrated functions means that organizations can fine-tune their CRM toolkits in a way that was previously only possible through complicated and often expensive integration projects.

For nonprofit organizations, building out a set of highly effective Salesforce apps can be a game-changer. After all, nonprofits rely on a particularly wide variety of tools to plan, manage, and track their operations. The fact that Salesforce can serve as a central hub in which you can build additional functions is a major plus for organizations that have made the move to the platform.

I don't know about you, but it certainly seems to me that March is keeping up with its reputation of coming in like a lion.

In the mix of everything March has brought to my doorstep, I've just landed in Portland, home of a trifecta of back-to-back-to-back Salesforce and non-profit community events. Tomorrow, I'll kick-off the 2019 NPSP Day tour, bringing together community members for the fourth year in a row in Portland!
