Top Soapbox Engage Releases for Nonprofit Dreamin 2023

For 16+ years, Soapbox Engage has provided fundraising and engagement solutions that integrate with Salesforce to make nonprofit and education management seamless and swift. In anticipation of Nonprofit Dreamin, we’ve pulled together a list of some of our most exciting product releases of the past year!

1. Introducing Donations Modals

Just in time for 2022 year-end giving, we released Donations Modals, a game-changer for all fundraisers who use the Soapbox Engage suite of tools! Donations Modals make donating as lightweight and straightforward as possible for your supporters. And fewer barriers to giving means more money raised for your cause!

Modals are savvy, beautifully designed components that appear on a user’s screen when they are visiting your website. Colorful buttons encourage them to select a donation amount, and choose to make the gift one-time or recurring. Simple form fields will collect the key data you need to track and thank your donors. And all of these buttons and fields are completely customizable to your org’s needs and goals!

2. Boost recurring donations with new upsell prompt

Another fundraising game-changer, this release adds support for triggering a recurring donation upsell prompt to help you convert one-time donations into monthly subscriptions.

You now have a simple and automatic way to nudge your one-time donors to become recurring donors as they are making a gift. After a donor clicks the “Submit” button for a one-time donation, they will see a pop-up prompting them to make a recurring gift to your organization.

3. Introducing the Soapbox Engage Popups app

Of course we have to mention the arrival of the Soapbox Engage Popups app, the latest tool in our suite of online engagement apps. With the Popups app, you can easily create and control popups that appear on your main website from within the Soapbox administrator. These popups can drive site visitors to key Soapbox pages, such as the donation page for your latest fundraising campaign or the event registration page for your upcoming gala.

4. Front end user portal login for admin for Portals app

The Soapbox Engage Portals app is one of our most robust and flexible solutions that can be used in tandem with any Soapbox Engage app to add a members-only user access portal. In the spring, we added new capabilities that allow administrators to login as front-end users from within the administrator. This can help you better understand visitors' experience when accessing your site through the user portal and perform actions as that user on their behalf.

In other words, if your site has a front-end user portal, you can login as a front-end user, essentially assuming their identity, from the administrator. When logged in as the front-end user, you have the ability to see and do anything that user is able to see and do, such as register for an event on their behalf, process a donation, or update the credit card used for a recurring donation.

5. Improved inventory management in Shop app

A string of releases has streamlined inventory and product tracking in the Soapbox Engage Shop app. Updates include streamlined inventory adjustments in the Shop app Product view, and the ability to search for a product by Product Code on the Inventory view.

6. Variant and Inventory Management in Shop app

We had to give this Shop app update its own shoutout. This major release takes the Soapbox Engage Shop app capabilities to new heights for the shopping cart experience, allowing you to display variants of a product in your online shop as well as track inventory for all products and variants.

Any sort of attribute for a “parent product” is considered a variant for that product. For instance, a t-shirt you are selling for your organization may have variants depending on size, color, and style/fit. Now, when an end-user goes to purchase this t-shirt, they will see dropdown picklists to select from the variant options available. The cherry on top? You can display variant-specific product images.

7. Price-Based Shipping charges in Shop app

One more for the Shop app! The Shop app now supports price-based shipping charges. As an admin, you can now define shipping costs that are added to a Shop Store or shopping cart order based on the total cost of all products included in the order that are marked as shippable. Define one or multiple ranges for these shipping charges to better cover your costs.

In support of the price-based shipping feature, we've added a parameter to the add/edit Products view so you can designate a given product as shippable. If it is shippable, it is subject to price-based shipping charges.

8. Enable SSO to the Soapbox administrator with Salesforce

Let’s finish off with convenience! This release enables you to login to your Soapbox administrator using Salesforce user accounts. With this option, you and your fellow administrators won't need to remember and manage a separate set of credentials for Soapbox. You can simply login using your Salesforce username and password!
