Leaving a legacy of clean water for future generations
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation uses Soapbox Engage to engage its community and inspire individuals to become advocates for the Bay.
For more than 50 years, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) has fought vigilantly for healthy rivers, clean streams, and a restored Chesapeake Bay. Its mission is to Save the Bay, and keep it saved. CBF fights for effective, science-based solutions to the pollution degrading the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers and streams, which are home to more than 18 million people and 3,000 species of plants and animals.
Prior to working with Soapbox Engage, CBF was struggling to find an event registration management tool flexible enough for their various event types, while integrating with Salesforce and remaining affordable for nonprofits. Hosting restoration and educational events and boosting engagement with the Soapbox Engage Events app
Part of the work of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation is to inspire their community to join in efforts to Save the Bay. One avenue for community engagement is through the various events that CBF hosts. From donor engagement events, to educational webinars, to restoration projects like tree planting and oyster growing, CBF offers diverse opportunities to support the Bay.
CBF needed an events tool that could support a variety of event types (fundraisers, webinars, restorations) to a variety of event attendees (students, teachers, donors, volunteers). With the Soapbox Engage Events app, CBF staff are able to easily create an unlimited number of events that automatically integrate with their Salesforce instance. Tracking registrations, offering various ticketing types and pricing, and processing payments from any device has never been easier.
Ready made templates with customizable elements allow CBF staff to create mobile-friendly event pages that are unified with their brand. But most importantly, registering for an event is as simple as filling out a few fields and pressing submit!

Streamlined operations with Salesforce integration and money-saving software
The Events app doesn’t just make a smooth registration process for attendees on the front-end. On the back-end, Soapbox Engage stores all registration information in Salesforce, matching attendees with existing contact records or generating new records when none exist. This means all CBF event data is now in one location, when previously data was split between their CRM and event management system.
Additionally, with the Events app, CBF staff can track the success of various events, campaigns, and channels to see which are generating the most registrations. Up-to-the-minute data and easily generated Salesforce reports provide top-notch marketing analysis, which ultimately furthers their reach and broadens their impact.
