Issue 7

Hey Soapbox Engage partners!

Happy August! I’ll be heading to the land of 10,000 lakes this week and I couldn’t be more excited for pontoon rides, paddle boarding, sunshine, and smores. I hope wherever you are, you’ve had time to enjoy the season you're in and spend time with the people you love.

Before I head out, I wanted to give you an update on what’s been happening in Soapbox Engage land! We had so many power-packed releases roll off the assembly line last month. We’re always working hard to improve our tools and give nonprofits the absolute best. Keep on reading to learn more!

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Also be sure to check out the webinars we’re hosting this month to see these new items in action!

Product Updates

Add and Edit Recurring Donations that Happen Offline in the Donations app

Add and Edit Recurring Donations that Happen Offline in the Donations app

With the Soapbox Engage Donations app, organizations can accept one-time or recurring gifts, and offer pre-defined payment amounts specific to each frequency on their website. But what happens if an organization hosts an in-person event and a constituent would like to donate a one-time gift or set up a recurring donation? Thanks to this update, administrators can now add BOTH one-time and recurring donations that happen offline. This can be done by navigating to the Donations app > Transactions > New Offline Transactions. Admins can also edit recurring Offline Transactions after their initial creation. Protect User Registration and Forms app Pages from Bots with reCAPTCHA

Protect User Registration and Forms app Pages from Bots with reCAPTCHA

Have you ever had to click the button that says “I’m not a robot” or “Select all images with crosswalks” from 9 little photos? That’s reCAPTCHA! reCAPTCHA helps protect websites from fraud and abuse by ensuring that someone is a real person and not a bot. Currently, reCAPTCHA can be enabled in the Soapbox Engage Donations app. Thanks to this update, reCAPTCHA can also be enabled in the Forms app and in our User Integration add-on. This protects your site from getting false user registration forms and any Forms app page submissions, keeping your data clear and free of clutter!

Increased control over the Classes app front-end user experience

Increased control over the Classes app front-end user experience

With a recent Soapbox Engage release, we’ve granted administrators more control over the Classes app front-end user experience in addition to cleaning up a couple of items.

When using the Classes shopping cart, by default, the order summary section of the shopping cart order form shows each individual ticket under its respective class that is contained in the order. With this Soapbox Engage release, administrators are able to hide individual tickets for specific events if they wish, displaying just the aggregate number of tickets for a given event.

Administrators can also customize the Search Events view with a page intro, allowing the option to provide additional context for front-end visitors. Click the link to learn more!

Load Reservations Faster in the Events app

Load Reservations Faster in the Events app

In the Soapbox Engage Events app, organizations can view their reservations in the Reservation Manager. Here they can view their reservations by date, order, event, and name. This update allows the Reservation Manager to better handle large data sets with greater speed and reliability. This way an organization’s data is available quickly and efficiently!
