Services

Wombat Works aims to be a solution provider and a partner in the success of their clients. They work hard to be able to provide the knowledge and experience to support a nonprofit's success.

Most of their engagements include Salesforce. Wombat Works does full implementations, system upgrades, rebuilds, reviews, and started a program they call "Success Support." Success Support provides a nonprofits' staff resources, who may be accidental techies or need support to implement best practices or complicated one-off solutions.

“This engagement often leads to certification for the staff member and creates a system free of technical debt that can support more profound, more lucrative engagements, outcomes, fundraising, and communications.”

Dean Graham, Founder, and Principal, Wombat Works LLC

Dean's experience as a broad-based nonprofit consultant provides a deep understanding of nonprofit needs, allowing them to go well beyond the more traditional Salesforce partner's level of support and solution development. This includes vendor and application selection, business continuity, communications, strategic planning, board relations, outcomes, and much more.

Their Unique Approach

Wombat Works takes a unique view to provide exceptional value to their clients. Their extensive broad nonprofit experience of over 25 years includes working with hundreds of nonprofits. This detailed hands-on experience coupled with a strategic vision provides insights, opportunities, and value that few organizations can match.

Wombat Works prides itself on being a solution provider, not an order taker, and as such often provides solution sets that offer value beyond what the client was expecting.

“We are about the success of each one of our clients. We recognize the special needs of nonprofits and have unique skill sets to support their path to win in many ways.”

Dean Graham, Founder, and Principal, Wombat Works LLC

Client Success

“We ask our clients to let us know their desired outcome and not how or what they think can be done. Too often, nonprofits come from a place of limits, fiscal or otherwise. We ask them to dream big and then share their vision. We have found that this leads to the best outcomes.”

Dean Graham, Founder, and Principal, Wombat Works LLC

Wombat Works started working with an international rare disease foundation in January 2020, taking over from another firm doing 2-6 hours of Salesforce support work a month. The partnership quickly grew into a beautiful collaboration.

Today (Summer 2021), Wombat Works is working with them almost daily to support every facet of their work, including programming, development, and systems design. Their primary Salesforce resource, with Wombat Works' support, is now a certified System Administrator, a focus of their work with many of their clients as the goal is to build the capacity of the organization.

Wombat Works is helping them develop their programming, engagement, communications, and international growth. Wombat Works is also taking this work and creating systems to support and track their work, including staffing, systems integration, projects, and supporting applications and solutions that serve their needs, such as Soapbox Engage!

Their Advice

We asked what advice Wombat Works would give a nonprofit when it comes to their technology and data. Here’s what they said:

Most of the self-reported high achieving nonprofits also report a high level of technology use and integration. See your data as a valuable resource. Create a place of truth. Create a system that supports recording your work as it is happening, not as a place to record the work you have done. Understand the value of segmentation. Go deeper into your stakeholders. Identify important personas in various parts of your organization, their data segmentation, and most importantly, what is important to them. Speak directly to your personas. Everyone responds better when they feel someone is talking to them instead of at them!
